
The New York Times recently reported that the Bloomberg administration is facing growing opposition towards the expansion of bicycle lanes as a means of easing traffic congestion. Initially laid out to help New York City accommodate a growing number of cyclists, many business owners, vendors, and truckers are citing concerns about the lanes. Issues stem from cyclists moving into traffic lanes, from slowing traffic, to shop owners not having a delivery space for their goods.
